I like pretty things.
I'm a freelance graphic designer who moonlights as a photographer and retail manager. I'm still (read: always) refining my craft(s), and this constant desire for improvement stems from my affinity for aesthetics.
I graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor's degree in journalism, but a few classes in news design truly caught my attention. Ever since then, I've been intrigued with all the various pieces that comprise good design, such as typography, grid systems and information graphics.
My work – including paid and volunteer projects – involve publication design, illustration and data visualization for a variety of organizations. I also enjoy photography and am always dabbling with new techniques there as well. I have a diverse background of experience from which I can draw, but I'm always looking for new opportunities to push my skills further.
